Executive Summary
In an era of government budgetary surpluses and a burgeoning economy, BC continues to be the least affordable province in which to purchase a home. The British Columbia Real Estate Association (BCREA) believes housing is the foundation of an individual’s quality of life—everyone needs and deserves affordable, safe, appropriate housing, whether they own or rent.
Given current economic conditions, the provincial government is in the fortunate position of being able to work with other levels of government and the private sector to ensure citizens of all means and in all communities have a diversity of housing choices.
By acting on these key recommendations, BCREA believes the government can help improve the quality of life of all British Columbians and secure the economic future of the province.
