RE/MAX donates $3.1 million in 2005
All proceeds to Children's Miracle Network
RE/MAX associates across Canada raised $3.1 million for the Children's Miracle Network's 14 member hospitals and foundations across Canada in 2005. The contribution topped last year's donation of just over $2.5 million – an increase of 24 per cent.
"I am so proud to witness how our dedicated professionals believe in giving back to the communities in which they live and work. They have once again, overwhelmingly, shown their dedication to the cause of helping sick children," says Helga Wendt, Manager of Regional Administration and Children's Miracle Network Liaison for RE/MAX of Western Canada.
The Canadian contribution represented 32 per cent of the overall $9.6 million RE/MAX donated throughout North America last year. The proceeds were raised through local fundraising events and programs like the RE/MAX Miracle Home Program, where associates make a donation on behalf of each transaction.
"With over two million children in need annually, hospitals require our support more than ever before," says Christine Martysiewicz, Director of Public Relations with RE/MAX Ontario-Atlantic Canada. "There is comfort in knowing that our Sales Associates are helping to improve children's health care each and every time they sell a home."
According to John Hartman, Senior Vice President, Children's Miracle Network, "Each region, RE/MAX Western Canada, RE/MAX Ontario Atlantic and RE/MAX Quebec have broken through the $1 million level in donations in 2005. This is an incredible testament to the REALTORS®, Brokers and staff. Since the partnership began in 1992, RE/MAX in Canada has generated over $21 million for children in need of critical care at our 14 member hospitals. (CREA 22/02/2006)
